SkillsUSA Massachusetts - Updated Masking Policy 3-1-2022
In compliance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and MA Department of Public Health (DPH) face masks are not required for participation in SkillsUSA conferences and competition. Vaccinated individuals have the option to wear a mask if they so choose. Unvaccinated or immunocompromised individuals are strongly encouraged to wear a face mask.
Exceptions to this masking policy for competition will be at the discretion of the individual contest committee/Event Manager. If an individual contest committee/Event Manager chooses to require contestants to wear masks while competing every contestant in that contest will be expected to comply.
SkillsUSA will provide face masks for every contestant and Advisor. Masks will also be available in the competition area.
Every SkillsUSA participant is expected to maintain an environment of mutual respect for all individuals regardless of their individual decision on masking.
SkillsUSA Massachusetts reserves the right, at the discretion of the Executive Director and Board of Directors, to reinstate a mask mandate if an increase in COVID-19 cases or transmissions is detected and/or if it is required by local, state, or federal agencies.
