SkillsUSA Mass. Student named to TeamUSA for WorldSkills 2009!
October 31, 2008, South Easton, MA: SkillsUSA Massachusetts is proud to announce, National SkillsUSA, sponsor of TeamUSA, has named Scott Raymond of East Hampton, Massachusetts to TeamUSA as the United States competitor in Collision Repair Technology for the 2009 WorldSkills Competition (WSC) which will take place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on September 1-7, 2009.
Raymond is a 2007 graduate of Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School, Superintendent Frank Llamas, and 2007 SkillsUSA National Gold Medalist/SkillPoint™ Certificate recipient. Raymond is currently attending Universal Technical Institute in Norwood, Massachusetts perusing additional training in Collision Repair, Diesel Equipment Technology and Automotive Technology.

SkillsUSA is a member of WorldSkills International – The International Vocational Training Organization headquartered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This organization sponsors the biennial WorldSkills Competition (WSC).
WorldSkills Calgary 2009
Over its 50-year history, the WorldSkills Competition has come to symbolize the pinnacle of excellence in skilled trades and technologies training.
Every two years, hundreds of young competitors from all over the world gather to compete in this international event. The Competition sets world class standards in over 40 skill categories ranging from welding to cooking, auto body repair to landscape gardening, plumbing to web design.
The Competition also draws thousands of visitors including policy makers, government representatives, employers, teachers, trainers, and experts from around the world.
The Competitions will be held September 2-5, 2009 at Calgary Stampede Park. 400 tonnes of tools and 4 million tonnes of equipment will be used during the Competition. For more information about the event, please visit www.worldskills2009.com
