SkillsUSA Massachusetts holds holiday party community service
SkillsUSA Massachusetts in conjunction with Plymouth South High School’s Chapter of SkillsUSA and the SkillsuSA Massachusetts Alumni Association teamed up to host a holiday party for 29 children from the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Plymouth.
The party, which was held at Plymouth South High School, featured arts & crafts, games, music, and an ice cream social as well as a visit from Santa who came bearing a bag of gifts for each child! The gift bags included toys, books, and a hat and gloves/mittens set for each child.
The State Executive Council raised $1,051.00 to purchase toys and provide the ice cream social. The state officers also organized a hat & glove drive as well as a book drive during the Fall State Leadership Conference in order to provide these items to our guests at the holiday party.
The Alumni Association provided the arts and crafts as well as music. Plymouth South High School’s Chapter of SkillsUSA provided the facilities, a pizza party for lunch and the student officers at Plymouth South also contacted the World Champion Boston Red Sox about the event and the Red Sox responded with an autographed baseball to be given away during the party.
The staff of the Boys and Girls Club, who accompanied the children to the party, were grateful and the children seemed to have a wonderful time in the company of SkillsUSA. – Thank you to all who made this wonderful activity possible!
